“With the gorgeous, streaming lights on, elegant ladies and gentlemen get together at the prom...”
The long-awaited Air Force Academy Prom kicked off with the host’s opening remarks. This year’s theme, “The Good Old Days”, tells the stories of the '80s. The overall design style centered around an “old-school,” “graceful,” and “elegant” vibe along with Christmas decorations across different eras and styles. The activities were designed and the decorations at the prom night were all done by cadets divided into several work teams. All these further uplifted the vibes and aesthetic appeal of the entire event!
The prom started with the principal of R.O.C. Air Force Academy, Major General Hu, along with all officers and the leaders of all senior year working groups walking under the sword arch. As a curtain-raiser to the prom, an opening dance by the principal and his wife to the song “A Fair Girl of West Lake”, and ballroom dances by cadets from the Cadet Group were presented. A series of outstanding and visually and auditorily satisfying performances came next, including those of the military band, the energetic dance club, and the bands which include The Match, asia, and Squat Down, dance performances by senior cadets from each class, and the much-anticipated Christmas caroling performance by cadets dressed as angels. There were raffles in between performances to hype up the atmosphere and engage the guests. At the end of the prom night, spectacular fireworks were launched to perfectly wrap up this year’s prom night!
At this year’s prom night, the cadets not only showcased their “elegance” and “energy,” but also displayed a side completely different from the impression that they were always serious men of few words. The cadets’ elegance and energy made all guests from afar feel at home!
