Alone in a foreign land as a stranger, every time festivals come, I miss my parents two times deeper than usual
DATE:2015-03-19“Alone in a foreign land as a stranger, every time festivals come, I miss my parents two times deeper than usual.” I’ve been absent for three years of the family gathering in the Chinese New Year! Though I can still feel the Chinese New Year of Taiwan on the internet, at that time, the new semester has begun in the U.S.A. However, the Chinese-American professors hold the Chinese New Year celebration activity yearly to build the atmosphere of the Chinese New Year. We also make cards for the efforts of professors; besides, our seniors give red envelops as a blessing for Chinese New Year. We gather together like family. As time goes by, we’ll be the highest grade in my academy and soon formally get the ring of the class. Before it comes, we finally get the long-expected “the Holiday Clothing”! This symbolizes that we’ll soon be the highest grade which also means that we can wear the suit outside. It is formal and shows our extraordinary temperament. What more, we can learn how to tie by this chance. The left days I’m allowed to stay in the America reduce. I’ll finish the study in the foreign land in a year and a half-year. I am so blessed that I have the chance to study abroad and get in touch with the foreign culture. Though it makes me lose the chance to get alone with family and friends in Taiwan, it expands my horizons and allows me to learn more different things. I’ll make up for the time that I’m supposed to be with my family, and contribute to my country by the things that I have learned in America.
