The R.O.C. Air Force Academy undertook the Ministry of National Defense’s (MND) Early Assistance Program for “College and University General Education and Second Period Undergraduate and Graduate Program Evaluation” for 2016. The Academy conducted self-assessment on February 26, 2016 by inviting associate professors Pan Yong-jian and Wu Tien-hua from the Air Force Institute of Technology to visit the Academy and conduct assessments. Both associate professors were experts with practical experience. Through the visit and the two experts’ efforts, the Academy got a better angle on the mission, methods adopted, and the achievements of the Aeronautics and Astronautics, Avionics Engineering, Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering, and Aviation Management departments. They also provided advice to each department to conduct preparations for the assessment by the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT), as well as pinpointed shortcomings and correction measures for the establishment of quality assurance and self-improvement mechanisms, in order for each department to strengthen its advantages and develop its own unique characteristics. All these efforts sought to help the Academy to meet the requirements of the “College and University General Education and Second Period Undergraduate and Graduate Program Evaluation” by HEEACT.
