C-119 “Flying Box Car” Air Transportation Aircraft
History
C-119 was made by Fairchild Co. of US, equipped with two reciprocating engines of each with 3,500 horse powers. Its maximum speed is 217 nautical miles per hour and service ceiling is 18,000 feet. It can carry 42 to 62 passengers or soldiers, or 35 litters.
It joined the Air Force service in 1958 for mission of supply, air dropping, search and rescue, and was served as a main force of the Air Force with heavy duties and great contributions.
