History
The F-86F was made by the North American Co. of the US, equipped with a J47-GE-27A axial-flow engine of 5,898 pounds thrust power. Its maximum speed is 590 nautical miles per hour and service ceiling is 49,600 feet. It carries six 0.05-inch machine guns, and can be equipped with two AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles, and eight 5 inches rockets for executing air-to-air or air-to-ground missions on wings.
It had shot down hundreds of MIGs during the Korean War and created a record of 31:1 in the Taiwan Strait Air Combat, making it a difficult adversary of the MIGs.
It started ROC Air Force service in 1954 for the combat forces. Then it was used for training purpose in 1970 and was officially retired in 1977.
