F-104A (Star)
History
F-104A was made by the Lockheed Co. of the US, equipped with a J-79GE-11A axial-flow engine with maximum thrust power of 15,800 pounds (afterburner included). Its maximum speed is 1,260 nautical miles per hour and service ceiling is 60,000 feet. It is able to carry one 20-milimeter M60 Vulcan cannon, and can be equipped with two AIM-9 sidewinder missiles, two gasoline bombs or two 1000 pounds bombs, or thirty-eight 2.75-inch rockets on wings. It opened the era of double-sonic flight for the ROC Air Force.
It started the service in 1960, shot down its first Mig-19 on January 13, 1967, and was officially retired on March 3, 1988.
