T-33A (Shooting Star)
History
The T-33A is a two-seated jet trainer made by the Lockheed Co., equipped with a J33-35 axial-flow engine of 5,192 pounds thrust force. Its maximum speed is 500 nautical miles per hour and service ceiling is 47,500 feet. It carries two 0.50-inch machine guns, and can be equipped with two 500-pound bombs, four 5-inch rockets, or eight 2.75-inch rockets on wings.
It came into the service in 1953 as a part of the jet aircraft replacement program, and then was applied at the Academy for advanced flight training in 1957. It served for the ROC Air Force for a very long time and made a great deal of contribution.
