F-100A (Super Sabre)
History
The F-100A was made by the North American Co. of the US, equipped with a J57-P-7 axial-flow engine of a thrust power of 16,000 pounds. Its maximum speed is 750 nautical miles per hour and service ceiling is 56,000 feet. It carries four M39 20-milimeter cannons, and can be equipped with four AIM-9 sidewinder missiles, two 500-pound or 1,000-pound bombs, or two AGM-12B radio guided missiles. It is the first jet fighter to be supersonic while flying horizontally. It came into the ROC Air Force service in 1960 and was officially retired in 1984.
