IL-28 (Beagle) Light Bomber
History
This IL-28 was driven by anti-communist heroes Li Shien-bin, Li Chai-Wan and Lian Bow-shen from Zhejiang’s Jangchow Airport and was voluntarily surrendered to Taiwan on November 11, 1965. It was made by the Soviet Union, equipped with two VK-1A axial-flow engines of each with 5,950 pounds thrust power. Its maximum speed is 490 nautical miles per hour and service ceiling is 44,600 feet. It carries four 23-milimeter cannons, and its load limit is 6,600 pounds with the capacity of 3 crew members for bombing missions.
