Ministry of National Defense Symphony Orchestra (MNDSO) held the first event of the annual concert to demonstrate the annual results of training and recruitment for the volunteer force. In addition to the classical suites performed by a concert band, the event also featured a special suite from the Star Wars Trilogy, as well as magnificent selections from the two episodes of MND image advertising 2015 “Protecting our homeland; Training,” in hopes of bringing audiences a brand new feast for enjoyment.
The performance was divided into two sessions, which were performed by the orchestra and the concert band, respectively. In the first session, the orchestra performed selected pieces from two episodes of MND image advertising 2015 “Protecting our homeland; Training”; combined with the screening of the advertising and with the orchestra playing under the conductor’s command, the outstanding performance captured the audiences’ eyes and ears. Furthermore, Sgt. Sun Shao-en and Sgt. Chen Zong-han played violin selections from Fantasia on Themes from Gounod's 'Faust', Op. 20 (Henryk Wieniawski), and pieces from Kol Nidrei, Op. 47 (Max Bruch), respectively, thus fully displaying the achievements of volunteer officers who underwent training by MNDSO.
The second session featured classic suites for concert bands such as “Locomotion,” “Colonel Bogey March,” and “The Wizard of Oz,” in addition to a special one from the Star Wars Trilogy to spice up the event. The annual concert came to a perfect end in the dramatic music performances.
